Nonviolent direct ation: Workshop mit Jake Conroy

ABOUT:
Corporate and pressure campaigns have been used by grassroots movements for decades to make positive change. By applying the right pressure in the right places, small groups of people are able to reshape the world. One important tactic in the campaigning tool box is nonviolent direct action, or NVDA.

Over the course of the training, Linda and Jake will discuss the importance of pressure campaigning, how it’s done, and how it’s been effectively used in the animal rights movement and beyond. We will then spend a majority of the day learning about NVDA and how to safely engage in it to be the most effective we can be in putting ourselves on the line through noncooperation.

This will be a hands-on, learn-by-doing training including proper body language, deescalating communication, and smart, safe ways to physically use ourselves to build resistance and solidarity.

This event will be entirely in English and will not be translated! Your English does not need to be perfect, but it is certainly helpful to have decent English skills.

Was sind die drängendsten Anliegen der Tierrechtsbewegung? Welche Entwicklung nimmt der internationale Aktivismus? Und wo liegen Chancen für künftige Fortschritte?

Diese Veranstaltungsreihe gibt Antworten: vielfältig, konkret und praxisnah. Erfahrene Tierrechtsaktivist*innen berichten hier in regelmäßigen Abständen von erfolgreichen Projekten und Kampagnen, von vielversprechenden Ansätzen und Strategien.

Ihre Vorträge und Workshops sowie aktuelle Filme dienen als Wissenspool und Anregung für alle, die sich für die Rechte der Tiere einsetzen möchten. Die »Hamburg Animal Rights Talks« sind ein gemeinsames Angebot von ARIWA – Animal Rights Watch e.V., Komplex Tier Vortragsreihe Hamburg und dem Tierrechtsaktivistenbündnis.

UNKOSTENBEITRAG:
Wir bitten um einen Unkostenbeitrag von ca. 5 € in bar vor Ort nach dem solidarischen Prinzip: je nach den persönlichen finanziellen Möglichkeiten gibt man mehr und ermöglicht damit anderen, die weniger haben, ebenfalls die Teilnahme.

SPEISEN & GETRÄNKE:
Während des Workshops stellen wir Fingerfood und Getränke mit der Bitte um eine ausgleichende Spende zur Verfügung.

Das gemeinsame, superleckere vegane »Picknick Dinner« mit Jake und Linda im Anschluss ist auf 30 Personen zu je 15 € pro Person begrenzt und wird vom »glück auf – café und catering« bereitgestellt. Das »Picknick Dinner« ist nur bis zum 07.03. im voraus buchbar.
